TLDR
Larnaca International Airport is about 55 to 60 kilometres from Pernera and you have four realistic ways to bridge that gap: private transfer, shared shuttle, taxi, or rental car. This guide covers cost, journey time, and which option suits which kind of traveler.
Insider Tip
Prebook a private transfer if you land after 10pm. Taxi queues thin out late, public transport drops to almost nothing, and prices often spike. A prebooked transfer locks in both cost and waiting time, and the driver meets you at arrivals with your name on a sign.

Option 1: Prebooked Private Transfer
The easiest option for most visitors. You book online before you fly, the driver meets you at arrivals with a name board, and the price is fixed regardless of traffic. Expect €55 to €80 for a standard car. This is our top recommendation for families, couples with luggage, and late arrivals.
Prebooked private transfers from Larnaca airport to Pernera usually run 55 to 75 euros for a sedan taking up to three passengers, and 75 to 95 euros for a minivan taking up to six. The drive is about 65km and takes 55 to 70 minutes depending on traffic on the A3. Drivers meet you at arrivals with a name board; waiting time up to 60 minutes after your flight landing is normally included free. Night surcharges of 5 to 10 euros apply between 11pm and 6am with most operators.
Option 2: Shared Shuttle
The Kapnos airport shuttle runs scheduled services from Larnaca to Ayia Napa and Protaras for around €11 per person each way. It is the cheapest option for solo travellers and couples without kids, but does not drop at your hotel door. You will typically take a short taxi from Protaras to Pernera at the end.
Shared shuttles to the Protaras-Pernera area run around 18 to 25 euros per person one-way, and the total journey with multiple hotel drop-offs can take 90 to 110 minutes. The main operators are Kapnos Airport Shuttle and Limassol Airport Express; booking at least 48 hours in advance is recommended. Shuttles are a good option for solo travellers on a budget but less useful for families because the cost quickly matches a private car and the ride is longer.

Option 3: Airport Taxi
Taxi ranks are right outside arrivals. No need to book, but prices are higher than prebooked transfers and rise significantly after midnight or early morning. Budget €75 to €95 for a metered fare in the daytime.
“Lovely hotel. Clean tidy staff all very nice. Rooms light, clean spacious. Good kitchen facilities. Pool area amazing.”
Official Larnaca airport taxis are metered and typically cost 80 to 110 euros to Pernera, depending on time of day and traffic. A night surcharge of roughly 15 percent applies after 8.30pm. Take taxis only from the official rank outside arrivals; avoid anyone approaching you inside the terminal. The driver should turn on the meter at the start of the journey and hand you a printed receipt at the end. If anything feels irregular, ask for the company name and vehicle number.
Option 4: Rental Car
Makes sense if you plan to explore beyond Pernera: Cape Greco, Larnaca old town, Nicosia, or the Troodos mountains. You pick up the car at the airport, drive straight to your accommodation (the route is almost entirely motorway), and have wheels for the week. Larnaca Airport publishes a list of rental providers if you want to compare.
Rental cars from Larnaca airport start around 20 to 30 euros per day for a small manual in shoulder season and 40 to 60 euros in July and August. Fuel in 2026 hovers at around 1.45 to 1.55 euros per litre. Cyprus drives on the left; most rental counters issue a one-page quick-reference for visitors used to right-hand driving. Parking in Pernera is free on most streets; larger hotels have guest parking. Book an automatic if you are not comfortable shifting left-handed.

Arrival Tips
Cyprus drives on the left, which surprises some visitors. The A3 motorway from Larnaca to the east coast is straightforward and well signed. Fuel stations are plentiful near the airport and in Paralimni. Save your transfer confirmation to your phone before you board, since the airport WiFi can be patchy at peak times.

Larnaca airport is compact and walking from the gate to the arrivals hall rarely takes more than 10 minutes. Passport control queues can spike to 40 minutes after two wide-body arrivals back-to-back, so build buffer for connecting transport. There is free Wi-Fi in the terminal for up to 60 minutes. ATMs in arrivals dispense euros in 20 and 50 notes; withdraw at least 50 euros for small tips and initial purchases as some drivers prefer cash even with card-on-file bookings.
